Food For Life Featured in CNNMoney Re: DC Social Innovation

Food For Life was recently featured in a CNNMoney piece on “how startups are tackling DC’s poverty problem.”

The article focuses on DC’s disconnected youth ages 16-24 (who are either out of school or unemployed) and how innovative community-based programs with “street cred” make sure they aren’t falling through the cracks.

One example is Antonio Willis (pictured right at FFL’s kitchen), a graduate of FFL’s spring 2014 session. In the article, Antonio reports that he joinedFFL to “stay out of the streets.” Now a cook at Shake Shack with a plan to run his own restaurant one day, he’s “in the process of chasing [his] dream.”
