Volunteer Opportunities

Want to get involved in the work of Food For Life? Here are our current volunteer opportunities!

Mentors will be key component in supporting FFL students transition from being youth to young adults. Throughout the nine-week session, mentors commit to call/email their mentee weekly, attend one monthly Wednesday dinner at FFL from 6.00-7.00pm, schedule one additional connection per month with their mentee, and follow-up with their mentee once a month for 10 months following the 9-week session. No culinary experience required, just a desire to invest in students wanting to take the next step in their lives.

Help in the Kitchen

Get an inside look at Food For Life and meet some remarkable young people! On Tuesday and Thursday from 5.30-7.30pm, step into the kitchen just when we’re turning up the heat. Help us fill in the gaps: everything from helping our students package desserts, to taking pictures, to washing dishes. This is a great opportunity for someone who can only occasionally connect with the ministry and enjoys the high energy of a kitchen!

Special Projects and Events

Sometimes we need an extra hand for student graduation or a fundraising event. Or sometimes we need folks with more specialized skills (a photographer or guest chef) to be the best possible place for our students.
